For my VISA Final Project, I made a digital time capsule that was then printed on a large-scale printer. This time capsule included personal images containing my memories over the year, including receipts, notes, and — even — my math homework. In terms of the layout, I used a collage format using Photoshop to piece together various images, texts, articles, etc. I also used different textures, like crinkled paper, tape, and other materials to add to the collage effect. In addition, I played with texturizing the piece as a whole to give it a slightly vintage and timeless feel, similar to what I did with my zine assignment. My college incorporated different techniques from our previous assignments, including working with Photoshop, printing on a large-scale printer, and using various texts and fonts into the piece. By printing out my final design, I hope to concretize the many facets that comprise this year that will make it easy to look back on in the future. Overall, I am happy with how the project turned out and think it will serve as a great way to look back on a great year.
